Heather Dubrow's 13-Year-Old Daughter Kat Baked a Beautiful Lemon-Curd Cake
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum showed off her daughter's impressive kitchen creation.
Throughout self-quarantine with her family in Orange County, Heather Dubrow has shared many an update from the kitchen at the Dubrow Chateau.
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum first shared that she's learning to cook, and showed off the fruits of her taco-night labor in mid-March. On April 5, she returned to Instagram Stories to share that she'd made some waffles which were... "not bad." However, the focus of her Story quickly shifted to show off the latest creation from the star baker in her family.
Smiling over a lemon-flecked cake that looked professionally baked, Heather's 13-year-old daughter, Katarina, gave a brief description of her opus magnum. "Hi. I made this cake," the teenager said. "It has lemon-curd filling and American buttercream and vanilla cake." (Side note: Only a true baker would differentiate which type of buttercream she made.) Katarina added, flashing a thumbs-up, "It's all from scratch."
Heather responded with pride. "That is awesome, Katarina, wow!" She added wryly: "Thank God someone can cook here."
We have to hand it to Heather, though. Even though she's never claimed to be the world's most skilled baker, she has wrangled some pretty amazing bakery cakes in the past. When Katarina had a star turn in her high-school play, Heather gifted her with an over-the-top Shrek cake. And when Katarina turned 12 back in 2018, her mama got her the cutest Wizard of Oz cake, which came with a sweet yellow brick road and edible ruby slippers.
