Emily Simpson Shares Photos & New Details from Her Modeling Days in 1999
As the RHOC mom’s daughter, Annabelle, ventures into professional modeling, Emily reminisced about her time doing “weekly department store ads.”
On Season 17 Episode 4 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Emily Simpson shared that her daughter, Annabelle, had “been interested in modeling for many years,” and took the 10-year-old to LA Model Management for a meeting and test shots. Emily gave Annabelle advice before the meeting (watch the moment in the clip above), which presumably came from what she learned during her own modeling days.
While Emily has previously offered glimpses into her time as a model in her 20s, she shared new photos and details on Season 17 Episode 5, which aired on July 5.
“When I was younger, I did a little bit of modeling,” she told her husband, Shane Simpson. “I made a little money. When I was in law school… I used to do weekly department store ads.”
Shane also had some previous industry experience, revealing, “We had a TV show on Cox Cable.” This seemed to be news to Emily, who asked, “You had a TV show? How old were you?” Shane replied, “I was a senior in high school. We had a whole garage dedicated. It was a talk show… We had the whole set, and we had guests on there.”
With all that in mind, Emily concluded in an episode interview, “Maybe Annabelle got a little bit of DNA from Shane, a little bit of his entertainment DNA. Like, she’s 90% Emily, 10% Shane.”

Did Annabelle Simpson sign with a modeling agency?
Emily and Shane reminiscing about their former jobs was sparked by Emily sharing an exciting update on Annabelle’s modeling venture. “Annabelle signed with a modeling agency,” she said in an episode interview. “I think Annabelle modeling at her age right now is a good thing for her because she would have to be somewhere on time, she has to be respectful. She needs a little professionalism in her life. She’s wild.”
As Emily and Shane discussed Annabelle’s next steps as a model, Shane questioned whether Emily would have the time to take Annabelle to jobs. However, Emily explained, that would not be an issue. “I would make her a priority as long as she’s happy and she enjoys it and that’s what she wants to do,” she said.
