Emily Simpson Shares a Live Look at Her Breast Implant Removal Surgery
The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member's plastic surgeon filmed her breast surgery and shared the footage on Instagram.
Real Housewives are known for being very open about their cosmetic procedures, especially in Orange County. From Tamra Judge's lower facelift to Kelly Dodd's vaginal rejuvenation, The Real Housewives of Orange County ladies don't hold back when it comes to sharing details of their latest treatments and surgeries. However, Emily Simpson just took that openness to a whole other level.
On October 19, Emily went into the surgery room for breast implant removal surgery and a reverse tummy tuck, and her doctor shared a full look at her procedure live on Instagram. Through a series of IG videos, plastic surgeon Dr. Siamak Agha showed everything from Emily's surgery prep to the instant transformation of Emily's breasts after having her implants removed and getting them lifted.
Prior to the surgery, Emily explained why she decided to have her implants removed. "I put in silicone implants 4 years ago and I feel my arthritis and joint pain increased significantly after doing this. I researched and read a lot about BII (breast implant illness) so I decided to remove them for health reasons," she shared during a virtual Q&A session on IG. "Originally I thought I could just replace them with saline implants... but my [doctor] informed me that even saline implants are covered in a silicone shell. So the only way to be completely silicone free is to remove them and not replace!" In another IG Story, she added, "I feel it's the best decision for my overall health."
When asked if she experienced any symptoms that made her want to remove them, she replied, "Weight gain, fatigue, severe joint pain, depression, etc."
Emily also revealed that her breast size is "around a DDD." However, she expects that to change after the surgery. "I actually have a lot of my own natural breast tissue and my [doctor] thinks I'll be about a C cup after the removal," she shared.
The attorney already has a plan in mind in case she isn't pleased with her post-surgery breast size: "If I think I'm [too] small (I just want to be proportionate) and want more volume, there's always the option of having a fat transfer later," she wrote.
