See the Dubrow Chateau Backyard, Which Is as Spectactular as a Five-Star Resort

The Real Housewives of Orange County alum is pulling back the curtain on her gorgeous outdoor space.

Secrets of the Dubrow Chateau

Heather Dubrow has generously opened the doors to Dubrow Chateau and given us all an intimate tour of her spectacular home before — but until recently we had only seen snippets of the backyard. We knew about the gong, and the bell the Dubrow clan throws ice chips at, and oh yeah, we’ve seen the pool, too, but thanks to a recent in-depth tour on The Real Housewives of Orange County alum’s YouTube page, Heather’s Closet, we now know soooo much more about the home’s expansive outdoor space. Terry Dubrow describes it best: “The backyard is basically my personal resort,” he says in the episode. “I just feel at home and relaxed the moment I walk out there.”

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

Um, yeah, if that backyard was ours, we’d also be feeling super relaxed, Terry! Like all the rooms in her home, Heather put a lot of thought into the planning of the backyard, and she oversaw every single detail. “I wanted the outside of our house to feel like a hotel,” she said. “I wanted there to be multiple hangout areas, super comfy lounges, places to watch TV, places to watch a game, places to have a cocktail, places to have an outdoor dinner.”

Below we’ve pulled together the highlights for you, all of which resemble something you’d find in — you guessed it — a five-star hotel. Job well done, Heather!

The Gong

“I love this [sitting area] because it feels kind of cozy and you can sit here at night because there’s heaters up above,” said Heather, adding that her overall theme for the backyard was crisp, modern, and black and white. “And best of all is my gong. I had this made in San Francisco and the kids and Terry thought I was absolutely insane, but it is now for all of us one of the best features in the house, and whenever someone new comes over they get to bang the gong!”

Outdoor Dining

“Table for 10, al fresco, easy to serve because the kitchen is right here,” explained Heather. “I ordered this table from Italy and I absolutely adore it.”

Rancho Relaxo

“A little fun in the sun, lots of places to [do a] little rancho relaxo here,” shared Heather. “We have the big circular beds and lounge chairs on the far side, [then there’s the] pool and jacuzzi. I can change the pool color at night, depending on if it’s Valentine’s Day it can be red, if it’s July 4th it can be blue, it can be anything!”

Fire Features

“I also put this cool feature of fire on the corners of the pool, so that way at night if you’re sitting out here and entertaining, we turn the fire on and it’s a really cool effect,” Heather said. “When we turn on the fire it adds an extra element of sexiness, which I absolutely adore. But then you have to make sure no one's getting too close to it or else we have to call 911 and that’s not sexy!”

Those Circular Beds

“These big circular beds actually spin,” explained Heather, adding, “This is Terry’s favorite place to lay out and listen to music. Terry has his own particular playlist that we call ‘old man music.’”

The Stunning BBQ Pavillion

“This is our barbecue pavilion and honestly it’s so fun to hang out here day or night,” said Heather. “Of course we have the big ass TV, because Terry loves a big ass TV!”

One More Bathroom

“One of my favorite bathrooms in the house is the pool bath,” she said, pointing out the porthole mirror and illuminated onyx sink. “I tried to do it beachy and fun and pool and kind of California.”

Bird Cages

“I love these chairs! I was looking for these for so long, and then I finally found someone that could make me these incredible chairs,” said Heather, while perched in one of them. “I feel like a little birdie in a cage, it’s so fabulous, very fancy, it’s also an incredible place to just sit and chill and reflect and look out at the water and honestly just be very, very grateful for what we have.”

And when Dubrow Chateau is your humble abode, there’s a lot to be grateful for!
