On The Real Housewives of New York City season premiere, Sonja was willing to bury the hatchet with Luann — but not if it meant putting down her meal.

On The Real Housewives of New York City’s April 2 season premiere, viewers witnessed heated arguments, an epic drag performance, and the buzzed-about introduction of new cast member Leah McSweeney — but in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scene, Sonja Morgan may have given us the most iconic moment of all.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo Tuesdays at 9/8c and stream next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

As she and Luann de Lesseps aired their grievances with each other from the past year, the duo finally seemed to make amends. While they went in for a hug to seal the deal on their renewed friendship, Luann looked visibly emotional as she held her "Sonjarita" and rubbed her arm. Sonja, meanwhile, used the opportunity to take a massive bite of food using her free hand. Although we’re unsure if Luann was aware of what was going on behind her back, she may have been tipped off by Sonja's continued commentary as she ate (yes, still in the hug!).

While Sonja called Luann’s memorable failure to bring truffle fries back to the group last season her “real misdemeanor” earlier in the episode, we're going to have to argue that Sonja declining to show us the mystery meal she couldn't put down in the highly emotional moment may be an equally-weighted offense.

The women picked up their food that day from Luann's former go-to food truck parked outside of the New York county criminal court building, but now that Luann's probation is officially behind her and the season has wrapped filming, it seems Sonja will be trading big bites for an abundance of liquids. “I’m doing what I usually do after I wrap a big season of RHONY,” she said in a recent video recorded for Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “I am detoxing.”

"I’m only juicing right now. I’m doing colonics," she explained of her diet while self-isolating in Desert Hot Springs, California at the We Care Spa. I’m taking cinnamon, cloves, garlic: everything to kill everything and keep my immunities up. Lots of green juice."

Below Deck alum Kate Chastain called Sonja a "comedic genius" in a recent video, and after watching Sonja once again turn a heavy conversation into a laugh-out-loud moment, we have to say we wholeheartedly agree.
