Caroline Stanbury & Sergio Carrallo Put a Spooky Spin on Barbie & Ken for Halloween
The Real Housewives of Dubai couple dressed up as the beloved Mattel dolls — with an interesting twist.
On The Real Housewives of Dubai, Caroline Stanbury joked about other people’s perceptions of her relationship with her husband, Sergio Carrallo, who is 19 years her junior, noting how some called him her “toy boy.” Over the summer, the London native again poked fun at the idea, sharing a video on Instagram of the pair on a boat with Sergio working out and Caroline lounging in a pink one-piece as she sipped champagne. “Life of a Toy Boy,” Caroline captioned the post, throwing in a laughing emoji for good measure.
It seems the Ladies of London alum has a thing for pink bathing suits — and toy references — as she and Sergio just revealed their adorably stunning Halloween costumes this year: Barbie and Ken.
In a series of photos posted on October 28, Caroline showed how she became Barbie with a hot pink one-piece, yellow leg warmers, knee pads, and roller skates, while Sergio rocked a pink T-shirt and shorts, as well as matching knee pads and roller skates. In addition to channeling the iconic Mattel dolls, they also seemed to take inspiration from Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s costumes in the upcoming Barbie movie.
“[Barbie and Ken] had an accident,” Caroline captioned the pics, referring to Sergio’s bloody face and bruises, and the gashes on her arm (all created with makeup), all of which implied they took a tumble in their skates.
Sergio shared a few Instagram Stories of the getting-ready process, showing the amazing details of the gory makeup.
Caroline also posted a few clips to her Instagram Stories, giving a peek at Sergio getting his hair dyed and her emulating Barbie’s signature spunk with a clip-in ponytail.
“Team work makes the dream work,” the mom of three quipped in the video of herself surrounded by her hair and makeup squad.
