Kyle Richards Shares New Details About Her "Awkward" Living Arrangement with Mauricio Umansky
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom revealed why "some days are not as great as others" at home these days.
In 2017, Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky moved into their Encino house. As we've seen on Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the couple is navigating a "challenging" time in their marriage, resulting in a change to their living arrangement in the 11,000-square-foot home.
On an October episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kyle confirmed to the titular host that she and Mauricio were still living under the same roof, but that she was sleeping "in a different room" from her estranged husband.
"I let him stay in the primary bedroom because it's very, like, masculine, and the upstairs floor is like the glam — I can't stand that word — area, and there's, like, a bed," she said. "So I was like, 'You know what, what am I gonna do? Put him a little room with flowers and, you know, pink and velvet?' No."
During a recent conversation with The Messenger, Kyle offered an update on her separation from the real estate mogul and shared more details about their living situation today.

Though Kyle noted that her living arrangement with Mauricio in their house is a bit "awkward" at times, they do make it work — especially for their daughters, Portia, Alexia, and Sophia, who also live in the Encino home. Kyle's eldest daughter, Farrah Brittany, lives in her own house nearby.
"We both very much live at home in the same house, and we're fortunate enough that my home can fit us all to spread out. And I'm also very fortunate that we get along and care about each other very much and that we are a family no matter what," the Beverly Hills native told The Messenger. "That's always been what we stand for. That has not changed, and, obviously, some days are not as great as others. Some days it's like, 'Oh, it's a little awkward today.' And other days, it's like nothing ever happened, and we're just all watching TV as a family."
Kyle then concluded, "We're taking it a day at a time."
Are Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky getting a divorce?
Though Kyle and Mauricio, are separated, they do not currently have plans to divorce.
"I just bumped into somebody in the lobby at the Peninsula [Hotel], and they said, 'It must be hard with a separation and divorce,'" Kyle also told the outlet. "I said, 'Not divorced.'"
She continued: "We haven't spoken about [divorce] yet. No, that has not come up yet. Obviously, we know that it is potentially something that could happen with us. We just haven't gone that route yet."
