Kyle Richards’ Backyard Has Undergone a Bittersweet Change: “She’s Gone”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member has removed a staple fixture from her Encino yard.
Kyle Richards’ daughter Alexia Umansky recently took to Instagram to share a bittersweet update about a place The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers know well: Kyle’s expansive backyard. The lush garden-and-gazebo-flecked space has been the setting for many an iconic Housewives party — and maybe even a spat or two. But now, one of the structures that hosted many of those memorable moments is no longer.
The structure in question is a trellised seating area that Kyle dishes on in the clip above. Pointing to the tucked-away space, the Halloween Kills actress calls it a “little conversation area.” She continues: “Often when we have a party, people go and sit over there with their drinks and have a talk. There may have been a Housewife or two that have gotten into a couple situations sitting over there. It’s a nice little place to just get away and have a private conversation.”
The fixture has quite a history too. Though Kyle says she’s not quite sure when the seating nook was built, the house itself was built in the 1880s and moved to its current site in 1912. “Sometimes I look and I wonder: How old is this thing I’m sitting on?” she says.
Alas, Kyle and her family won’t sit there again anytime soon. Showing the vacant space where the conversation area used to be, Alexia wrote in her Story: “She’s gone,” along with a heartbroken emoji.
Alexia and her mother don’t just share a backyard. (Alexia lives at home with her parents, where she sleeps in a bed that’s covered in Gucci.) They also share little black dresses.
On March 12, Kyle took to her Instagram Stories to reveal she “stole” Alexia’s long black gown to wear to that night’s 31st Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party.
Before hitting up the soirée, Kyle shared some behind-the-scenes details of her full look. She carried the Glitter Mini Rockstud Spike bag by Valentino that she brought to Crystal Kung Minkoff’s 40th birthday party, and wore the colored diamond necklace from Peter Marco that she wore to a friend’s wedding. Her accessories also included sparkling diamond stud earrings.
Also present for the family affair? Kyle’s sister Kathy Hilton, who posed for a photo with Kyle in a glamorous black sheath of her own that featured purple, orange, and white floral embellishments on the front of the dress.
