Now We Know Why Kathy Hilton's Blue Peacock Top Looks So Familiar
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills rookie made a rare move in the world of Real Housewives' fashion.
Despite her penchant for the finer things in life, Kathy Hilton has a down-to-earth attitude when it comes to fashion — and her style sense is a tad different from some of her friends'. Dishing with Town & Country in June, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 11 rookie was in awe over her fellow cast members' wardrobes.
"For the first episode, I went to Dorit’s for a barbecue," Kathy told the magazine. "I thought I looked pretty nice; I had on a silk flowy dress and espadrilles. I mean, that’s pretty nice for a barbecue! And I could not believe it. I walked in and all of these women — they looked absolutely gorgeous — it was like New York Fashion week meets Paris couture shows meets the red carpet at the Oscars. Gucci and Balmain and Louis Vuitton and Chanel. Unbelievable."
Of course, Kathy herself has a gorgeous wardrobe. But in a refreshing move that's rarely seen in the Real Housewives universe, she's not afraid to wear the same look twice in one season.
In the clip above, Kathy shows off an interview outfit that features a bright-blue silk top by Elie Tahari. Selected with help from her stylist, Laura Rugetti, the lightweight top has a peacock print and ruffled neckline. The outfit suits the Bel-Air mama, and seeing it again in a recent episode of RHOBH was like spotting in an old friend.
In the September 1 episode, Kathy hosted the dinner party that will go down in Housewives history. And as she prepped for the occasion, the hostess wore her tried-and-true blue top. It really popped next to the red-and-white decor. Plus, it's a proven fact that royalty re-wears outfits.
Of course, it's not all peacock prints for Kathy. (Have you seen the size of her closet?) The hospitality expert has shown off tons of jaw-dropping looks on RHOBH and on Instagram in the past few months.
For a trip to the beach, Kathy wore the incredible striped Island Capri sun hat from Australian designer Lorna Murray. Earlier in the summer, the RHOBH rookie looked romantic in Rome wearing a dreamy, off-the-shoulder dress. She also has a flair for special-occasion dressing.
When Kathy hosted a RHOBH viewing party at her house, she donned a show-stopping Valentino dress that was dripping with pink feathers. And for her own birthday celebration back in March, Kathy wore a gorgeous Alexander McQueen Crystal Embellished Floral Embroidered Blazer, which retails for $10,900.
