Garcelle Beauvais Hosted the Most Gorgeous Haitian Dinner: Photos
"This is me opening up my world, my culture," The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member said before her fancy dinner.
As Garcelle Beauvais prepared to host a Haitian dinner for her The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmates, she was excited to share an important part of herself in the process. "I am very excited to have the women over," Garcelle said on the show's September 8 episode. "This is me opening up my world, my culture, showing them that I want them to get to know me more. And I'd like to get to know them more as well."
With that in mind, Garcelle made sure every detail was absolutely perfect. "This looks so amazing. This is magic, absolutely magic," she said as she looked around at the vibrant flowers all over her home. Lisa Rinna clearly agreed. "Gorgeous," she said as she walked past the dozens of candles leading to the front door. "Holy moly, look at this."
After enjoying a drink, the group sat at a candle-lit table that was surrounded by even more beautiful flowers, including a stunning floral wall. "I wanted to do something to sort of bring us to [a] tropical vibe," Garcelle explained.
The meal was equally beautiful. A chef prepared courses including pumpkin-based soup Joumou, Boulettes de Morue (salted cod balls), Lambi (stewed conch), and Djon Djon mushrooms with black rice. "It was really important for me for you guys to get a glimpse of my heritage," Garcelle explained. "And I just wanted you guys to sort of just get a taste of my culture and my foods."
The food was a new experience for many of the ladies, which didn't exactly surprise Garcelle. "It's the Haitian way," she said. "You don't know what you're gonna see in the kitchen." Still, they were all very impressed. "Everything has been so delicious," Kyle Richards said, before Crystal Kung Minkoff added, "I ate everything."
