Kandi Burruss Celebrates Her Tony Award Nomination in a Bright Yellow Pantsuit
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member celebrated “a day full of inspiration” in sophisticated style.
Kandi Burruss has rocked some impeccable looks over the years, but her pantsuit fashion has always had our attention.
In February, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member attended the 54th Annual NAACP Image Awards with her daughter Riley Burruss, and the pair turned up in serious style. While Riley wore a black-and-white Balmain monogram miniskirt and matching cardigan, Kandi rocked an elegant, sexy green satin blazer, pants, and bustier top, completing her look with numerous gold accessories.
Kandi again showed off her impeccably chic pantsuit style on June 2, taking to Instagram to celebrate a milestone achievement: her first Tony nomination for her producing role on the play The Piano Lesson.

“Today was a day full of inspiration! The [Tony Nominee Luncheon] was awesome. Met so many great people,” Kandi captioned a series of photos in which she posed with her husband, Todd Tucker, in a gorgeous bright yellow pantsuit. The mom of three paired her asymmetrical single-breasted blazer ($2,290) and bootcut trousers ($990) by Alexander McQueen with a low side braid by Sew Jodie and yellow diamond drop earrings.
“You are on your way EGOT star,” RHOA alum Porsha Williams wrote in the comments. As fans already know, in addition to being a cast member on RHOA, Kandi is also a singer, Grammy Award–winning songwriter, and actress.
Kandi Burruss’s Broadway Success
Kandi and Todd became producers of the Broadway revival of The Piano Lesson in the spring of 2022. Broadway World reported on January 3 that the Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, and Danielle Brooks–led revival became the “highest grossing August Wilson play” in history.
A few days later, Kandi shared the exciting news via Instagram.
“Another dream coming true! Thankful to be a producer on [The Piano Lesson] which is now the highest grossing [August Wilson] play in Broadway history,” Kandi captioned the post, noting that the show would run until the end of January 2023. “Great way to start 2023!”
Later that day, Kandi recorded an Instagram Live video to thank fans for their support, and she shared that she was “super excited” to celebrate the honor.
What Else Is Kandi Burruss Working On?
In addition to being more involved in Broadway and celebrating the Tony nomination, Kandi has stayed busy in 2023 with a few other projects in the works.
The Atlanta mom launched Kandi Koated Live in January, and she also noted in the aforementioned Instagram Live that she was producing a movie with Todd. Moreover, the couple has detailed their continued work in restaurants on Season 15 of RHOA, with Todd revealing he had more ideas for future business ventures, including a Mexican restaurant and a pizza joint ostensibly named after their son, Ace.
