Kandi Burruss Celebrated a Major Accomplishment in a Head-Turning Business-Casual Look
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member is making big strides in her career, and she had just the outfit to mark yet another milestone.
No matter what she wears, Kandi Burruss is a worldwide boss. But on September 5, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member really owned the part in a business-casual look. Though office-appropriate attire typically calls beige duds and a bit of blah to mind, Kandi's spin on the style proved just how head-turning business casual can be.
So, what was the occasion? As Kandi reveals in the clip above, she and her husband, Todd Tucker, are producing a new version of the musical The Wiz. The show is currently on its national tour before it lands on Broadway, and a September 24 performance in Baltimore drew an impressive crowd.
Kandi, Todd, their kids Ace and Blaze, as well as The Real Housewives of Potomac's Candiace Dillard Bassett and Wendy Osefo, were on hand for the Baltimore show. In an Instagram post documenting the Housewives-studded night, Kandi wrote: "Last night was a great night! Thank you to everyone that came to support [and] sold out the venue here In Baltimore again for a second time! [The Wiz] is absolutely amazing!!!! Everybody in the family will love it! "

For the sold-out show, Kandi wore a beige blazer with an open front and fold-over lapels. She paired the sharp jacket with matching pants, which had a breezy, slouchy fit with an elasticized waistband and bottom. Under the jacket, the Broadway producer wore a white, bustier-style top. She completed her look with a glittering choker, hoop earrings, and clear, pointed-toe heels.
According to Deadline, The Wiz will begin its Broadway run next year. Broadway previews will kick off on March 29, 2024, and opening night is set for April 17. Meanwhile, Wendy has already shared her review on Instagram.
"Congrats [Kandi] on the sold out premiere of THE WIZ!!" the Potomac mama wrote. "The show was absolutely amazing! The costume, music, dancing, EVERYTHING!! Y’all, make sure to check out [the show] when it comes to your city and bring a friend or two."
Wendy also showed up for the show in style. She wore a chocolate-brown midi dress with long sleeves and a high neck. Candiace made a fabulous audience member, too. She wore a navy-blue hat with a veil, a textured white sweater, and silky, navy pants tucked into lace-up combat ankle boots with furry trim.
In Wendy's Instagram Stories, Candiace said: "The Wiz was Wiz-ing. Shout out to the Tuckers, Kandi and Todd, and all the saints that put this situation together."
