This Is Not the Wedding Cake We Expected From Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has shown herself in many incarnations over her 26 years. It seems so long ago that she was a PG-rated Disney star — and so much more recently that she was riding a naughty inflatable and partying with molly, at least lyrically, on stage at the MTV awards. But the wild child version of Miley didn't appear much in her relaxed, authentic-seeming wedding to Liam Hemsworth — at least not on the dessert table. (Let's just say the affair may have been held the same weekend as the Kardashians' Christmas party some states over — but it had a far different dessert spread.)

The wedding, held in the couple's Tennessee mansion, honored the singer's southern roots and home. And the desserts — including the wedding cake — appeared sweet and traditional, with nary a modern (or naughty) twist in sight.

Miley's father Billy Ray Cyrus, posted a new Instagram snap with the caption, "Wedding wouldn't be complete without one shot from Dads out dated blackberry camera. Love seeing all so happy." 

The photo showed the wedding cake front and center, a classic — even modest — two-tiered and white-iced confection atop what appeared to be a wooden crate. (Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's 18-foot wedding cake this was not.) Next to it on a sweets table sit white-iced cupcakes available for supplemental snacking... and an overall rustic, relaxed affair. No red cups or molly in sight.
