Amy Schumer Reveals CBD Is “the Only Thing” That Helped Her Pregnancy Nausea
Amy Schumer suffered hyperemesis during pregnancy before delivering baby son Gene.
Amy Schumer just gave birth to her first child with husband Chris Fischer — a baby boy named Gene. But throughout her pregnancy, she was open about the extreme challenges she experienced with a condition called hyperemesis, a complication marked by severe nausea and vomiting.
Now that she's on the other side, Schumer shared a candid Instagram post detailing some of her top takeaways from pregnancy. For one thing, "Women are the s---." And for another, "Hyperemesis is real and it’s awful." Fortunately, it went away as soon as she delivered — but Schumer opened up in her post about the one thing that helped her cope while she was suffering with the condition: CBD.
"The only thing that helped me with my nausea was products from @thelordjones," she wrote on Instagram. The Lord Jones produces CBD products infused with broad-spectrum CBD, "derived from select hemp cultivated in the U.S.A.," according to the brand's website. To clarify, there is no THC in the products; they do not have psychoactive effects.
Lord Jones makes gumdrops and chews "by hand in small batches from single origin Ecuadorian dark chocolate, imported natural European fruit essences and broad spectrum CBD extract derived from select hemp cultivated in the U.S.A., as well as tinctures "expertly crafted from five ingredients... [to] retain the plant’s original terpenes and phytocannabinoids to deliver a broad spectrum formula."
The company re-grammed Schumer's post, writing, "We love you Amy, Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing Moms out there, you have the hardest, most important and rewarding job in the world."
