Katie Maloney Reacts to Ex Tom Schwartz Calling Her a “Monster” on WWHL

The Vanderpump Rules cast member confirmed that she sent her ex a “rage text” and shared where things stand now.

By Shannon Raphael

After Katie Maloney heard her ex-husband, Tom Schwartz, call her a “monster” on the April 5 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, she sent him one of her famous “rage text[s]” in response.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Peacock and the Bravo app.

She revealed as much during her own WWHL appearance on May 10, in addition to sharing an update on her friendship with Schwartz. “I have talked to him — we mostly just talk about dog stuff because we share our dogs, so that is pretty much the extent of it,” the Vanderpump Rules cast member said about whether their friendship has suffered as a result of all the drama (and that “monster” comment). “I did send him a little bit of rage text after that episode, for sure, like, ‘You look like an idiot.’”

When host Andy Cohen asked if the exes could “ever recover” and repair their friendship, Katie said she wants to. However, she thinks Schwartz needs to figure out a few things first.

“I would hope so, but he’s really gotta learn just respect,” she explained. “Just in a friendship you need to have respect, and he just fails time and time again.”

In case you need a refresher, Schwartz said that Katie was a “monster” early in their relationship because she wanted him to side with her in arguments.

“She was always getting in tiffs, and she was like, ‘You’re either with me or against me.’ She demanded unconditional loyalty early on,” he said. “She’s put a lot of work into herself, and she’s a lot better now… But in the beginning, she was kind of a monster.”

Tom Schwartz Discusses All Things Katie

Almost immediately after the episode aired, Katie took to Twitter to reveal why she wasn’t totally shocked by what the TomTom part owner said.

“I was called a monster too many times to count,” Katie tweeted at the time. “[T]onight’s [WWHL] didn’t phase me. Sadly.”

Though the exes started out Vanderpump Rules Season 10 with the intention to remain cordial, things have clearly taken a turn between the two (especially after Schwartz made out with Raquel Leviss and broke Katie’s rule about not hooking up within the friend group).

Find out what happens next between Schwartz and Katie by tuning in to the May 17 finale and the Season 10 reunion.
