Dirty John's Real-Life Debra Newell Has a New Boyfriend After John Meehan
The subject of the true crime series introduced her new man on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Debra Newell still believes in love, even after her disastrous experience dating John Meehan.
The real-life subject of Season 1 of Dirty John was in the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen audience on Tuesday night (October 29), along with a very special guest: her new boyfriend. And it sounds like Newell has learned to pay attention to any early warning signs after Meehan turned out to not be the man she thought he was. "There's no red flags!" Newell told Andy Cohen during the WWHL After Show, which you can view, above.
Andy then joked, "There's no red flags, good. I mean, the bar is low."
But in all seriousness, Andy wished the new couple the best. "Treat her right. She deserves it," he told Newell. "We all want a happy ending for you."
Newell's daughter, Terra, was also in the Clubhouse that night. Guests Brandi Glanville and Kelly Dodd both expressed their admiration for both women for surviving the toxicity Meehan brought into their lives.
Since the events documented in Dirty John, Newell left California and now lives in Las Vegas where she runs her own interior design business, Ambrosia Home. After finding Meehan on a dating site back in 2014, Newell told DailyMailTV in June that she would never look for love online again. "When you go on dating websites, you put a lot there – which I never want anyone to do again because I think that can get you in trouble these days," she said.
