What's It Like to be a Vanderpump Rules Superfan and Hang at Tom Tom? Let Dave Holmes Explain...
The Bravo's Play by Play host has been to the mecca of Vanderpump Rules hotspots.
These days, it seems like anyone who is anyone makes sure to stop by Tom Tom. Tom Schwartz, Tom Sandoval, and Lisa Vanderpump's bar/restaurant has only been open for a few weeks, but it's already a Hollywood hotspot. And, fans from all walks of life are stopping by — including the fellas from Bravo's Play by Play. And we are now getting a report fresh off a recent hangout session there from Play by Play panelist and Vanderpump Rules superfan Dave Holmes.
"It's great. The environment is fantastic. It's really beautifully decorated. The bar is gorgeous. There's all kind of fancy cocktails, if you're into that kind of thing," he said, before describing the food as "elevated teenager food — and I mean that with love." The experience was especially thrilling for the former MTV VJ given how much he adores the series. "By the way, I met Katie and Stassi the next table over — Tom Schwartz was working the room — next table over Katie, Stassi, a person that we speculate might be Stassi's new boyfriend. I don't want to divulge too many secrets from the next season. But on the way out, we asked for a picture," he said. "And I worked at MTV in the late '90s, early aughts. I've been in this business a long time. I've literally never asked any celebrity for a picture in my career. The first people I've asked for a picture are Katie and Stassi from Vanderpump Rules and the look of terror on my face will chill you to the very bone. Well, they feel accessible. They feel like a part of my life."
One of the main qualifications for appearing on Play by Play is an undying love for all things Bravo, which Dave certainly has. While he was initially drawn into the world of Bravo via the drama of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, he admits that there is something special about Vanderpump Rules and it's where "I really turned a corner into hardcore fandom. I love that show, even [as] I spend the rest of my life in Los Angeles avoiding people just like the people on that show," he said. "For some reason, an hour a week, I need to spend with them. I love them. It's incredible."
