What the Miami Housewives Had to Say About Todd Nepola's Public Apology: "It Was a Lot"
Here's your explainer to all of the drama at Alexia Nepola's latest event.
What should have been new horizons for The Real Housewives of Miami ladies turned into a celebration dampened by a husband’s notable absence in the season premiere.
Following the explosive Season 5 reunion in New York City, Housewives Alexia Nepola, Larsa Pippen, Lisa Hochstein, Dr. Nicole Martin, Guerdy Abraira, Julia Lemigova, as well as RHOM series friends Marysol Patton, Adriana de Moura, and Kiki Barth, were back together for the first time since being back in Miami.
What followed was an understandably fiery event.
Drama at Alexia’s Nuevos Horizontes party
Alexia, hoping to let bygones be bygones, arranged a lavish Nuevos Horizontes (New Horizons) party at her home to give the ‘Wives a fresh start. But it didn’t halt several dramatic face-offs that occurred, including an ongoing conflict between Adriana and Marysol, as well as Guerdy calling Larsa the “fakest Housewife of them all.”
“Lots of mean and hurtful things were said,” Alexia said during a toast, citing the last time they were all together. “I’m hoping that by having you all here, we get to restart and have a whole new outlook and way of appreciating each other for the strong, beautiful, and smart women that we are.”
Alexia’s motives for the party might have been sincere, but the women and their plus-ones couldn’t ignore the elephant in the room: Where was Alexia’s husband, Todd Nepola?
Why didn’t Todd show up to Alexia's party?
Marysol was hesitant to show face at Alexia’s party, especially in light of the Season 5 drama when Adriana claimed Marysol’s ex made moves on Adriana. Alexia spoke to Marysol on a video call from her make-up chair, pleading with Marysol to attend.
“Marysol, I really need you to be here,” Alexia said. “Todd didn’t want to be here tonight.”
Alexia broke down in tears, telling RHOM producers that Todd didn’t want to be in an “uncomfortable position” in light of his public apology to Nicole’s fiancé, Anthony Lopez. Todd told his wife he didn’t want other people meddling in business between him and Anthony.

“I thought everything was fine; I don’t know what happened,” Alexia told Marysol. “He’s just like, ‘I don’t wanna be there, none of those people are your friends, they’re not my friends.’ That’s what he thinks; that’s how he feels.”
Todd’s public apology to Nicole’s fiancé
During a group dinner in RHOM Season 5, Episode 12, Alexia and Nicole fought over an event when Nicole whipped out her American Express card for arguing with the Nepolas’ friend and attorney in their presence and taking up his time. During the meal, Anthony said he would whip out flowers and chocolates, a comment Todd called “condescending.”
The men quarreled back and forth, with Todd calling Anthony “rude” and “offensive.” But the real offense seemed to come when Todd accused Anthony — an insurance lawyer — of working with a firm of only three people, insinuating that Anthony’s law group was less than average (Anthony responded by telling Todd he had 187 employees and three lawyers).
In March 2023, Todd published a video of himself on Instagram, reading a nine-minute apology, as reported by several celeb news outlets.
“Anthony, please accept my sincere apologies for wrongly mentioning your company on TV in a derogatory way,” Todd read from a prepared statement. “Not only did I have no right to mention your firm, I had no knowledge about the company; it was just a stupid and uncalled-for comment.”
In the RHOM Season 6 Premiere, Alexia said she was “not aware” that Todd planned on making the statement, unhappy with how public he took it.
What others thought of Todd’s apology
Nicole agreed, though she said in the premiere that “it was nice of Todd to apologize to Anthony.”
“I don’t think he needed to make a social media video about it,” Nicole maintained. “He could have probably could have just called Anthony.”
Despite doing “some pretty sh-tty things,” Larsa couldn’t understand the need for a nine-minute apology.
“It was just a lot of talking,” Lisa added.
Early in the episode, Todd said he no longer wanted to discuss the video, adding, “That ship has sailed.”
Alexia said as much when speaking with Marysol. But when guests at the Nuevos Horizontes party — including Anthony, who said the apology was “a stand-up thing to do” — questioned Todd’s absence, Alexia had to address the group.
“Everyone’s wondering, ‘Where is Todd?’ and so am I,” the party host said.
Alexia clarified that she and Todd were “not getting divorced” but that he was “feeling some kind of way” and chose not to come.
While it may not be new horizons for all of the Housewives, it’s sure to be a season of new drama, as seen in the Season 6 trailer.
