Wendy Osefo on Monique and Candiace Being in the Same Room at the Reunion

Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5 reunion aired on December 20, and was certainly an emotional conversation for the cast, as it provided the opportunity for Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett to meet face-to-face for the first time since last year’s winery incident. Newcomer Wendy Osefo weighed in on the event during a Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen appearance, providing some insight on how the reunion played out. 

“Dr. Wendy, we just saw part two of the reunion. Thoughts on Monique and Candiace finally being face-to-face tonight?” Andy asked in the clip above. “Did hearing the two of them speak tonight have you further on one or the other side than you were before?”

“No. I’m just glad that they finally got the chance to be able to have that. I think that that’s therapeutic in a sense. When you think about it, it’s been a year since they’ve seen each other,” she explained. “Imagine going through something of that magnitude with someone and having to wait a year to talk it out. So, I’m just glad that we sort of all just stepped back, and let them have that moment that they needed together.” 

Andy also asked Wendy to share her thoughts on the differences between Candiace and Monique’s demeanors at the reunion. 

“I can’t imagine what it would be like to go through something like that,” Wendy said. “I think Monique she was just really stoic. She was just right there, trying to say, ‘This is what I believe happened and this is what lead to the altercation.’ It was really interesting to see their different emotional stances. One was really, really emotional, and the other one had a more stoic demeanor about her, and that was interesting.”
