Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ Wedding Has a Connection to Her Wedding to Mike Shay
When the Vanderpump Rules couple married in Mexico, the event included the same officiant who led Scheana’s first wedding to Mike Shay.
When Vanderpump Rules couple Scheana Shay married Brock Davies in a lavish wedding ceremony in Mexico in August 2022, there were a number of familiar faces in attendance, some of whom had also attended her first wedding to Mike Shay.
And yes, one of those people also happened to be the same officiant who married Scheana and Mike almost a decade ago. And Scheana is here to explain why she used the same officiant for her second wedding. In fact, the reason she gave actually makes a lot of sense. “I also just want to say, it’s not odd that same person married me [in my wedding to Brock] because the person who married us is my cousin, David,” she explained on her Instagram Stories, adding, “[David], sorry other cousins, is always my favorite cousin.”
Scheana and Mike, as fans will recall, married in July 2014 (that wedding was featured in Season 3). They later split in November 2016. After some ups and downs in her romantic life, Scheana started dating Brock in 2019; they welcomed their daughter, Summer Moon, in April 2021; and then married last year. Their wedding was featured on several episodes of Vanderpump Rules Season 10 (including the April 12 episode), and, of course, was filled with plenty of love and lots of drama.
Scheana later shared on Instagram that the “[second] time’s a charm.” Brock added in a separate Instagram post about their special day, “This is my cup full.”
In an interview with The Daily Dish earlier this season, the newlyweds opened up about their special day (which, as it turns out, took place about a year after they had a small secret ceremony). Scheana called the wedding “beautiful,” with Brock adding, “It was a good love story and then obviously love was in the air and everybody else got excited too, apparently.”
When wedding guest Lala Kent appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday, April 12, she shared her rather surprising reaction to Scheana’s cousin leading the vows between Scheana and Brock several years after Scheana’s wedding to Mike. “No, I kind of loved it,” she said during her Clubhouse appearance. “It was the exact same guy, but she made jokes about it… Cool, I dig it.”
