Katie Maloney-Schwartz Reveals She Has “Been on a Date” Since Splitting Up with Tom
The Vanderpump Rules cast member offered an update on her love life and gave details on her split from Tom Schwartz.
Katie Maloney-Schwartz is opening up about being back on the dating scene following her split from Tom Schwartz.
The Vanderpump Rules couple announced in March that they were separating, with Katie filing for divorce after 12 years together as a couple. As fans may recall, Katie and Tom were married in 2016, with their wedding featured during Season 5 of Vanderpump Rules. They later tied the knot again in Las Vegas a few years later, and that wedding was also featured on the show in Season 8.
Katie recently gave an update on her dating life during an episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, via People, and revealed details on what she struggled with while ending her marriage to Tom.
“I like going out, flirting, or like, I’ve been on a date,” Katie mentioned during the interview, adding that although she wasn’t necessarily “trying to get a boyfriend,” she was finding enjoyment in taking the opportunity to meet new people. As for how she planned to go about potentially meeting new people, Katie clarified that she was staying off dating apps and instead choosing to socialize and mingle with others in real life.
Katie additionally noted on the podcast how “sad” and “heartbreaking” her separation from Tom was, saying, “It was… it gutted me.” She went on to add that, despite the difficulties of ending her marriage, it was something she felt she needed to do. “But I think just leaning in and trusting your gut and listening to that, because it’s about, always about, the relationship with yourself and nurturing that.”
Recently, Katie also shared an update on the status of her relationship with Tom, mentioning that the pair remained friends and had made the decision to split custody of their two dogs.
“We still do things together,” Katie said in a recent interview, adding, “We have some of the same group of friends, and we have dogs that we’re gonna split custody of… He’s family to me, and I’m always going to love him, so our friendship is very important to both of us.”
Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock. Plus, catch up with the Bravo app.
