Ramona Singer Says "Things Came to a Really Big Head" for Luann de Lesseps Prior to Her Return to Rehab
"When you get pushed over the edge, you kind of go back into [your] demons," the New York City Housewife said.
Luann de Lesseps has been hit with some hard times, as we've seen this season of The Real Housewives of New York City. But after her divorce from Tom D'Agostino, her arrest in Palm Beach, Florida, and her 21-day stay in an alcohol treatment center, Luann seemed to be back to her old fabulous self.
However, when the news broke last week that Luann had returned to rehab, it appeared that she's still got some work to do on the road to recovery. Bethenny Frankel, whom Luann authorized to speak on her behalf, confirmed Luann's return to rehab to PEOPLE. “Recent additional family stress was a catalyst to her taking a break," she said.
Ramona Singer also shared that she thinks "things came to a really big head" for Luann recently. "I think that pushed her over the edge. And when you get pushed over the edge, you kind of go back into the demons, and her demon was the abuse of alcohol," Ramona told The Daily Dish at the taping of the RHONY Season 10 reunion. "So it's sad."
Luann did not appear at the taping of this season's reunion. When asked if she thought the ladies would be supportive when talking about Luann at the filming, Ramona said, "Well, we have a reunion to do, and I think everyone has to own their behavior. No one's perfect; I mean, we're gonna feel bad for her, but you know what, she still has to own her behavior."
In addition to Bethenny, Andy Cohen has also sent his love and support to Luann during this difficult time. Dorinda Medley and Tinsley Mortimer expressed their sadness over Luann missing this season's reunion during interviews with The Daily Dish at the taping.
