Has Teresa Giudice Changed Since Her Prison Sentence?
The #RHONJ mom opens up about life since leaving a Danbury, Conn. facility last December.
When The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7 premieres this Sunday, fans will get to watch Teresa Giudice's return home after spending 11 months at a Danbury, Conn. facility. Her homecoming, featured in the season premiere, left Andy Cohen in tears, yet only months after adjusting to life back home with her family, husband Joe Giudice began his own 41-month prison sentence at the Federal Correction Institute in Fort Dix, New Jersey. Despite the distance, the Giudice family has stayed as tight-knit as ever.
“We email every day. We talk every day and I see him every week," Teresa said on Good Morning America on Tuesday, before explaining how her four daughters are doing in his absence. “You know, [they] miss their dad, of course, tremendously, just like I do. But you know they're doing as well as could be expected. They’re amazing. They’re really strong young girls.”
Following his 41-month sentence, Joe, who was born in Italy, could face deportation. Still, Teresa remains positive about the family's future. “No, I think our future is not uncertain,” she said. “He's gonna be home. We're gonna be together. Our family's gonna be reunited again, and that's what I'm looking forward to.”
The new season of RHONJ will also follow Teresa mending her relationship with sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga. “I feel like it's like how it used to be," Teresa said when it comes to their current dynamic. “We have like a funny banter together and we have fun together," Melissa added. "I just think that she’s calmer, just a little bit calmer.”
As for Teresa's current outlook on life? “You do grow, and you learn from your experiences, and that's obviously what happened to me," she said.
