Andy Cohen Explains Why Teresa Giudice Has "Not Enjoyed One Season Yet" of RHONJ
The WWHL host weighs in on Teresa's recent comments about her Real Housewives life.
Teresa Giudice has been on The Real Housewives of New Jersey since Day 1. She's the OG of the Garden State crew, and spending so much of her life in front of the cameras hasn't always been easy for the mother-of-four, who recently revealed that she hasn't always welcomed the attention with open arms.
“It’s always challenging for me, unfortunately. It’s like, everybody else has smooth sailing, has a great time on the show. For me, it’s always hard,” she recently told Us Weekly. “I haven’t enjoyed being on the show. Not as of yet, 10 years on. Not enjoyed one season yet. I can’t wait, maybe Season 11 I’ll enjoy.”
And while that comment might be surprising to fans of the show, Andy Cohen is hardly surprised she feels that way.
"I'm not surprised. I mean look at what's happened to her during her life [on the show]. I think she would agree that it's been kind of the best of times and the worst of times," the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host revealed during a recent appearance on the Jerry O Show. "She's a New York Times bestselling author. Her kids have grown up to be marvelous young women. But look at what's happened to her husband; she went to jail. She's had real high highs — and low lows. She really resented Melissa [Gorga] for coming on the show, bringing a lot of family business and family drama in front of the cameras. She didn't love that. That's not exactly a news flash that she said that, to me."
Viewers have come to know Teresa as having a hard shell, and in her recent interview with Us Weekly, she teased that she's softening up more in front of the cameras — even as she faces more drama. “You’re going to get to know me even better this season, because it’s hard for me to open up. I think that’s the problem that everyone thinks that I’m so tough,” she said. “I do open up this season, which is good.”
