Lindsay Hubbard Opens Up About Suffering a Miscarriage
"I don't know how the miscarriage is gonna affect me in the long run," the Summer House cast member shares in a preview of the next episode.
After a tense first dinner out with the Summer House crew, Lindsay Hubbard opened up to Carl Radke about what she had been going through prior to the start of the summer in the Season 6 premiere, which aired on January 17.
While "casually dating" her Winter House love interest Jason Cameron, as Lindsay put it in the Summer House Season 6 premiere, she suffered a miscarriage. Lindsay told Carl that it occurred the day after she found out that she was six weeks pregnant, and she spent five hours in the emergency room the following day. "It all happened so quickly that I wasn't even able to emotionally wrap my mind around the pregnancy portion of it before I was having a miscarriage," she said.
Lindsay went on to say that she told Jason "immediately" and that she was now doing "OK." "I absolutely would have had this child. That was cool to feel that, and I never thought that it would happen like that for me because it's something I've always wanted my entire life, to have a family," an emotional Lindsay shared in an interview during the episode. "Jason was absolutely wonderful, but I also just needed to get through it on my own."
Carl, who is now dating Lindsay, comforted his good friend after she shared all of this with him. "I'm here for you," he told Lindsay at the end of the Summer House Season 6 premiere. "I'm really proud of you. [You're a] strong woman."
In a preview of the January 24 episode of Summer House exclusive to Bravo Insider members, Lindsay is still processing the miscarriage that occurred just weeks before the start of this season. "I don't know how the miscarriage is gonna affect me in the long run," she says in an interview in the above clip. "I don't know if it's gonna be a late onset emotional roller coaster for me."
However, Lindsay is remaining optimistic when it comes to the summer ahead, especially where her love life is concerned. "But, now that I have zero attachments, my goal for this summer is to have a Hot Hubbs Summer," she declares. "I'm gonna do weird s--t [laughs]."
Lindsay recently told HollywoodLife that we will continue to follow her "fertility journey throughout the season." And as she reflects on this difficult time, Lindsay told the publication that she wants to “pull out the positive” from the experience. “One huge positive for me was like, ‘Wow, I’m able to get pregnant,’" she shared. "I actually thought I might have had fertility issues considering I’ve never gotten pregnant before, and I think that’s something a lot of women fear."
Lindsay shared a photo of herself in the hospital from this time in her Instagram Stories and showed her gratitude for all of the kindness she has received from fans since opening up in the Summer House Season 6 premiere. "Thank you all for the sweet messages filled with love and support after last night's episode!" Lindsay wrote.
