Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula "Bring out the Goofball in One Another"
The Summer House groom-to-be revealed the moment he knew she was the one.
A wedding is in the future for Summer House lovebirds Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula. The Loverboy and his lady love are ready to take the plunge — even after they took viewers inside the highs and lows of their romance. In the end, though, these two just knew they wanted to be together and after becoming engaged in September 2018 are ready to take the world by storm... as a unit.
Kyle opened up about the many twists in his romance with Amanda to The Daily Dish, via email.
What kind of love advice do you have for other couples?
Kyle Cooke: Don't rush anything — trust your gut instincts! Good things take time, and bad things can't be forced.
What love advice do you have for the Summer House crew?
KC: Don't go looking for love in the summer... it's tough to make a good first impression when you're sending it on the weekends and playing catch up during the work week. Utilize the spring to set up your summer fling, and the fall to make the call whether you cuff or not.
What advice do you have for single people?
KC: Force yourself to approach the attractive person at the bar — relying on dating apps is like going through life consuming farm raised salmon and never bothering to pay extra for wild caught. You're worth it — go the extra mile — make up an ice breaker and meet someone IRL!
What was your best Valentine's Day?
KC: A few years ago I accidentally asked Amanda where she wanted to be in five years ON VALENTINE'S DAY after years of commitment issues... not exactly a lighthearted topic. Once I backtracked what I would need to do in order to meet her in the same spot five years from that night... I decided that night to propose later that summer on Laboy Day weekend.
What was your worst Valentine's Day?
KC: I got called out for buying small studs Zales senior year of college instead of going to some boutique. Isn't Zales the goddamn diamond store?
How has Valentine's Day changed for you over the different stages of your life?
KC: It used to stress me out — and it still does. Soooooo...
What is your Valentine's Day philosophy these days?
KC: Less gift giving — focus on quality time and unique experiences.
How do you celebrate each other every day?
KC: I try to tell her she looks pretty when she doesn't have makeup on.
What do you love most about each other?
KC: We compliment one another, but still bring out the goofball in one another.
What was the moment you knew you wanted to be together?
KC: No joke — when we were filming Season 1 of Summer House, and on the final weekend she came out to the house and stood her ground and made me feel like a selfish prick for how I behaved and treated her that summer. I realized I had hurt her... and that killed me. Which made me realize, I love her.
How has being engaged [and] living together changed your relationship?
KC: We have to find ways to get out of the apartment, which was never a problem before...
What are your expectations for the wedding?
KC: A night full of highlights — all the people we care about in one room celebrating us. I'm also just dying to see what dress she picks.
Who from Summer House [and] Bravo should be expecting an invite?
KC: Good question! Our guest list is out of control, so you never know how the summer goes [laughs]. But let's just say the usual suspects.
Wedding aside, what else is next for the two of you?
KC: We need a vacation! Loverboy has been all consuming... it's been about 18 months since we went to Spain and we are overdue for an unplugged getaway. So I’m thinking mini moon after the wedding, and a proper honeymoon a year from now.
