Scheana Shay Reveals the Last Time She Spoke with Her Ex-Husband, Mike Shay
The Vanderpump Rules mom shared an update on Mike about seven years after their split.
Scheana Shay knows that cutting ties with an ex isn’t always easy.
Since joining the Bravo-verse in 2013, the West Coast native has been quite open about the ups and downs of her romantic life. We’ve seen the Vanderpump Rules OG begin and end various relationships that ranged from casual flings to long-term commitments, including not one, but two marriages.
In 2014, Scheana tied the knot with her high school-friend-turned-boyfriend, Mike Shay, whom she ultimately divorced less than three years later.

Scheana Shay opens up about her divorce from Mike Shay
“There were a lot of things from the beginning of our marriage that kind of tainted the whole relationship,” Scheana said in a 2017 interview with E! News. “Three months in I found out he had a pill problem. Right before our one-year anniversary, I saw some inappropriate text messages. Then, fast forward to our second anniversary, and I’m just trying to pretend like everything’s fine, because in my mind, we’re married — for better or for worse.”
Although the split wasn't exactly amicable, the former SUR-ver kept in contact with Mike in the years following their divorce. Scheana confirmed this during a 2020 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen when she provided a quick update on Mike's well-being.
“He is [doing OK],” she said. “I mean, I think he’s still kind of finding himself, but he’s happy and he’s doing well.”
Scheana Shay gives marriage a second shot with Brock Davies
It’s no secret that a lot has changed for Scheana since her divorce was finalized. In 2022, the “Good as Gold” singer took a second walk down the aisle and married Brock Davies, an ex-rugby player with whom she shares a 2-year-old daughter named Summer Moon. The husband and wife appear to be going quite strong as they head toward their second year of marriage and contemplate the possibility of baby No. 2.
But how has Scheana’s new life affected her relationship with Mike? Scheana shared the update in a recent interview with BravoTV.com, revealing she hadn't spoken to her ex since 2023.
Where does Scheana Shay stand with her ex-husband, Mike Shay?
“I haven’t talked to him much,” she said. “We spoke a bit last year — his mom sadly passed away, and I just was checking in on him a lot. I usually text him every year on his birthday.”
Scheana said she likes to speak with Mike a couple of times a year, but noted he rarely initiated the conversations.
“I think when I got into my relationship with Brock and then he saw, you know, I now have a child, he’s respected that boundary,” she explained. “And he doesn’t really reach out, but I still do to check in and just make sure he’s doing OK. I mean, he’s someone I’ve known since I was 15.”
In the years since his divorce from Scheana, Mike has kept a relatively low profile. His Instagram remains private and his official SoundCloud page has not been updated since 2019.
