Captain Sandy Yawn Shares a Peek at Her & Leah Shafer's New Florida Home
The Below Deck Mediterranean boss provided the glimpse after getting rid of an unexpected houseguest.
Captain Sandy Yawn has provided another update on her life on land.
Nearly two months after relocating from Colorado to Florida, the Below Deck Mediterranean boss gave fans a quick look at the new home she shares with her wife, Leah Shafer. Sandy shared the glimpse in a July 18 video in which the couple received an unexpected — and quite “creepy” — houseguest.

The clip began with Leah pointing the camera toward their precious dog, Little Bear, who was relaxing in the living room. As the licensed aesthetician tried to get the pup’s attention, she noticed a large spider dangling above their light gray couch.
“Little Bear, say hi,” Leah said at the top of the video. “Oh, what the hell? That’s a spider that almost landed on my head!”
Sandy was heard in the background asking, “What is he doing?” to which Leah replied: “He’s hanging from the ceiling, baby. Get it. Just smash it. Please don’t try to save it.”
The captain immediately sprung into action, grabbed a napkin, and removed the arachnid from the scene.
“I literally… That just happened,” Leah said in the clip, which was captioned: “Omg this spider almost landed on my head!!! Sandy to the rescue !!! creepy !”

The video also provided a peek at Sandy and Leah’s newly renovated home in St. John’s County, Florida. Upon rewatching the footage, you’ll see several stunning details throughout the open-concept living space, including light wood floors, white kitchen cabinetry, and panoramic sliding doors with black paneling.
Fans also got a peek at the kitchen’s chrome appliances, and the dark wood dining table with gray upholster seats that matched the couch. It was clear that Sandy and Leah have remained big fans of the contemporary, minimalist aesthetic, which was also seen in their Denver-area home listed for $685,000.
Captain Sandy and Leah move to Florida after tying the knot
The couple moved to the Sunshine State back in May, just weeks after saying "I do" in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Their ceremony took place on a jaw-dropping superyacht owned by their close friend, It’s a 10 Haircare founder Carolyn Aronson. Guests included a number of Bravolebrities, such as Below Deck alum Kate Chastain; Below Deck Mediterranean’s Aesha Scott; and Chef Dave White, who cooked the reception food.
Sandy reflected on married life in a May 14 Instagram that included photos from her and Leah’s special day.
“On May 11th, 2024 I married the love of my life,” she captioned the carousel. “I had no idea how amazing marriage could be! It feels incredible and I feel like the luckiest woman in the world. I love you, Leah Rae Yawn!! Thank you for taking my name! Thank you to our entire family and friends for coming out to show your love and support to our relationship.”
