Reza Farahan Reveals Where He Stands With Mercedes "MJ" Javid and Shares an Update on Shams

Mercedes "MJ" Javid and Reza Farahan of Shahs of Sunset continue to mend fences after an up-and-down friendship, and Reza revealed a big update during the "Bravo Pride" live interview at BravoCon 2023 on Saturday, Nov. 4.

Where do Reza and MJ stand in their friendship now?
“MJ and I are tight," Reza dished during BravoCon. "We flew over on the same plane with Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Teddi Mellencamp, and just a few other people. We’re on the same floor."
MJ and Reza, as fans may recall, had a falling out in their friendship during Shahs of Sunset Season 8 when tensions between rose after the former was accused by her castmates of orchestrating rumors about Reza’s husband, Adam Neely.
MJ, however, denied that she was involved in the rumors. "To my knowledge, those things were never brought up or true," she told The Daily Dish during an interview in 2020. "So if they were never true, how could I ever mention them? And if they were never brought up to me, I think what happened between Ali and Reza was a spontaneous argument."
MJ added that she has always been a "loyal friend" to Reza "without ever, ever, ever any exception."
An Update on MJ's Son, Shams
The problems in MJ and Reza's friendship continued in Season 9 when MJ's husband, Tommy, had beef with Reza and declared Reza couldn't meet their child, Shams.
But at BravoCon 2022, MJ shared a big milestone: Reza had met her son. And by January 2023, Reza told Andy on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen about his experience meeting Shams at GG's son Eli's birthday party, adding "we're solid."
MJ posted a picture to her Instagram of the meetup, and Reza commented, “Love you Merce and what a glorious day it was. It felt so great and so right! Thank you for hosting us Golnesa. I have to say that I couldn’t have planned a better meet cute. How he came into my arms with his candy coated fingers was perfection.”
As for his relationship with MJ and Shams now, Reza said at BravoCon 2023, "I see Shams. He's so cute and lovely."
