Destiney Rose Gives a Major Update on Her Relationship with Ali Ashouri
Are the Shahs of Sunset friends still tight amid Reza Farahan and Mercedes "MJ" Javid's drama?
As the drama between Reza Farhan and Mercedes “MJ” Javid continues to play out on this season of Shahs of Sunset, fellow cast member Destiney Rose has often found herself caught in the middle. The party planner recently opened up about how the feud has affected her relationships on the show-— including her friendship with Ali Alishouri.
A quick catch-up: Tensions among the Shahs of Sunset crew started to arise after Ali told Destiney that Reza’s husband, Adam, was sending him explicit text messages. After Destiney told Reza what she heard, it caused a massive rift, particularly after it was suggested that MJ orchestrated the rumors. While Reza and Destiney have since patched things up, the feud between MJ and Reza has only continued to escalate.
But theirs isn’t the only friendship that has seemingly come to an end over the gossip. Destiney has just given a major update on where she and Ali currently stand — and apparently, things haven’t exactly been smoothed over.
"I do not talk to him, at all," she explained in a recent interview with TooFab. Destiney went on to reveal that she agreed to cut off contact with Ali, per Reza’s request.
"I am a very strong independent woman and I don't like anyone telling me what to do, how to dress, where to go, who I should be with, who I shouldn't be with, no," Destiney said of her initial reaction to Reza's demand. "And when he said that to me, it bothered me, I'm human.”
But she ultimately decided ending her friendship with Ali was for the best. “I also realized ... you need to be careful of your surroundings,” she explained. “I want to believe in people, I want to believe people actually care, but unfortunately, we put ourselves in situations that could harm us. In this case, he was right, I need to wake up and realize who I had around me."
While her friendship with Ali remains on the rocks, Destiney previously stated that she remains hopeful for a reconciliation between Reza and MJ. “Reza is my number one. He will always be, with or without this show, in life,” she told ET. “But, I pray to God that Mers and Reza get to a better place. I want to believe that."
