Producers Reveal What a Summer House Weekend Looks Like for the Cast
The Summer House producers are spilling all of the Hamptons' best kept secrets.
Have you ever wondered what a weekend in the Hamptons is like for the Summer House cast? Well, the producers of the show shared all of those secrets and more in an enhanced version of Season 4, Episode 9 that aired on April 8. Read on to find out exactly what the production team had to say!
1. A Recurring Crew
Each weekend, the production team makes their way to the Hamptons and most of them are familiar faces. Many producers, camera operators, and sound team members have worked on the show since season one. "They've seen the gang grow and change over the years," say producers.
2. Laundry Time Is All the Time
The laundry machine runs all the time, say producers. In fact, one cast member in particular basically brought his hamper to the Hamptons. Luke Gulbranson "would arrive at the house on Friday with laundry from the city," they explain.
3. 24/7 Content
The team doesn't like to miss a moment of conversation, comedy, or drama. Producers have someone dedicated to taking notes about what they see on the 24-hour surveillance cameras.
4. One with the House
The crew team can usually feel if the vibe is off from shoot to shoot. As everyone arrived for the weekend in this episode, the mood in the house was "tense and busy," according to producers.
5. The Weekend "Party Animal"
The cast loves a good party on the weekends. Kyle Cooke is actually the producers' "favorite party animal." They say, "He goes from 0-10, is ready to have a blast, and not afraid to embarrass himself."
6. Privacy, Please?
A lot goes on during at the Hamptons during the weekends and sometimes, cast members need a bit of alone time. The best place for private convos is the bathroom because you can whisper in there and there are no cameras. "But if there's two people chatting in a bathroom, they invite the camera in too," explain producers.
7. The Hookup Hot Spots
Speaking of privacy, doesn't it make you wonder who gets most self-conscious about hooking up or kissing with the cameras there? Well, the producers say, "Everyone has their limits. We respect them."
They add that the pool has seen lots of makeouts, but no sex. "Gross."
8. Getting Ready for the Weekend
On the show we only see a glimpse of the Summer House crew getting ready for a night out, party, or event. According to the producers, the girls don't hire glam squads to do their hair and makeup for these moments — they do it themselves.
9. There's Nothing Like a Good Party
The cast LOVES dressing up, say producers, adding that they usually dress up according to their party theme.
However, producers have one main concern when it comes to the cast throwing parties on the weekends, like Kyle's birthday celebration from this episode: "Guests not leaving when the party is over."
10. The Producers Weigh In
This season, there has been a bit of drama brewing involving Jules Daoud and the other girls in the house. Producers think it was an "oversight" that the girls didn't include her, "but there were definitely occasions when they left her out intentionally."
