Porsha Williams Votes After Waiting in a Line “Wrapped Around the Building”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member underscored the importance of planning ahead when it comes to voting.
Porsha Williams has long used her platform as a way to promote the importance of voting and fighting for social justice, and in a recent post, she has proved yet again that she walks the walk, too.
In an October 13 Instagram post, Porsha shared a photo as she waited in an incredibly long line to cast her ballot. Although Election Day is on November 3, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member decided to vote early.
“Wrapped around the building!!” Porsha wrote in a caption alongside the photo of the winding line of voters. “But guess what my ass ain’t going nowhere!! COME ON GUYS let’s do our part!! GO VOTE!!! Our life depends on it!”
Porsha also added the hashtag “Plan Your Vote,” urging voters to create a voting plan ahead of Election Day. She has previously been involved in voting initiatives, such as appearing in a public service announcement with Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen on Voter Registration Day, which is a September 22 nonpartisan civic holiday reminding voters to check their current voter status.
As this year’s election is unlike any other, given the circumstances of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, there are more ways to vote than doing so in-person on Election Day. The Plan Your Vote PSA Andy and Porsha were a part of urges voters to be proactive about their voting plan, and to be mindful of the deadlines and regulations in place in their state.
