Craig Conover Says *This* Step Would "Freak Paige Out": "We Don't Know What We're Doing"
"We're not there yet," the Southern Charm-er said while giving an update on his living situation with his Summer House girlfriend.
As Paige DeSorbo started her search for a new Manhattan apartment on Season 8, Episode 5 of Summer House, she explained she wanted "to involve [Craig Conover]" in the process. Although, as Paige explained, her Southern Charm boyfriend, who is based in Charleston, would be living in the apartment when he is in New York, Paige wanted to be solely responsible for paying for it.
During the March 21 episode, Paige told Lindsay Hubbard that she went to see a potential new apartment, only to find out the rent was $12,000 per month. As Paige previously explained in the episode, she currently pays $8,500 in monthly rent for her apartment and would "go up to nine [thousand]."
Lindsay asked Craig, "Would you contribute?" and Paige answered, "No."
"What I said was, 'If you find, like, a sick ass apartment but it's outside of your budget, then I'll cover the outside of your budget part,'" Craig explained. However, he added, "We're not there yet... It would just freak Paige out."

In an episode interview, Paige explained why she didn't want Craig to financially contribute to her next apartment. "I wouldn't go buy a car with Craig not being married. I wouldn't start a bank account with Craig not being married, so why would I take part of my rent from him?" she asked. "Also, I'm not just going to be indebted to him, and then, what? He thinks he's gonna make decisions in my apartment? Get out of town."
Still, Craig clarified that he "would be willing to" contribute to the apartment, "but we've never done — we don't know what we're doing."
Later in the episode, Craig opened up to Kyle Cooke about his long-distance situation with Paige. "We do live in different places. She lives in New York City. She loves New York," he said. "I love Charleston. I run a company out of Charleston."
While Craig and Paige seem to be happily splitting their time between two cities, Kyle declared, "At some point, something will have to give."
