Melissa Gorga’s Jaw-Dropping Diamond Engagement Ring Is A Symbol of Her Marriage
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member wears an enormous split shank diamond on her left ring finger.
Even though Melissa Gorga loves jewelry — after all, she launched her own line with HSN in 2014 — her engagement ring from husband, Joe Gorga, is one piece that stands above the rest.
"Jewelry, it's easy for me — I don't have a stylist, it's something that I love, and I'm good at decorating," The Real Housewives of New Jersey boutique owner said to Fashionista around the time of the launch.
Though Melissa hasn’t spoken much about the sparkler specifically, we’ve caught glimpses of it throughout her years on RHONJ and, of course, when she’s being photographed while out and about.
What shape is Melissa Gorga’s engagement ring?
The appears to be a round diamond in a diamond halo with two triangular-shared side stones (called "trillion cut" stones) on either side of the center stone, Glamour reported in 2016.
They are set in a split-shank design, with three bands that are all part of a single ring.
Why doesn’t Melissa Gorga wear a wedding ring?
Melissa has often been photographed wearing her engagement ring sans wedding ring — which is common for women who own a split shank ring. (Plus, plenty of people opt not to wear a wedding ring.)
Melissa does tend to wear a number of different stunning rings on her right hand.
Where does Melissa and Joe Gorga’s relationship stand today?
Today, the couple — who wed on August 20, 2004 — has been married for nearly 20 years.
“I'm so grateful for the life you have given me. We made some strong, amazing kids together & I couldn't be happier,” she wrote to Joe in 2017 on their anniversary.
Though cheating rumors threatened to tear the couple apart in 2013 and again in 2021, ultimately, the pair is stronger than ever.
"A king must take care of his queen and a queen must take care of her king. No one is before the other. It's all about being a unit," Joe shared of his marriage philosophy in early 2020. "She is my queen, and I am her king. We are equal, we are one."
