Why Lala Kent Takes Issue with ‘California Sober’

As you might recall, over the summer, Randall Emmett released his film Midnight in the Switchgrass, which he directed. The movie, of course, stars Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, who met on set and are now very much dating one another. Around the time of the film's premiere, which the couple didn't attend, MGK released a tweet that some fans took as a  shady subtweet about the flick.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Peacock and the Bravo app.

Now we're learning about what happened after that tweet was unleashed onto the world. When Vanderpump Rules cast member Lala Kent stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday (October 5), she shared an update about where things stand between her fiancé and MGK today.

She was asked about the "shady tweet" by a fan, and Lala responded as such: "I thought the tweet was extremely mean. You know, save the mean stuff like that for us reality TV stars. 'Stars.' But he did send Randall a text that said that he apologizes and the movie was great. So he redeemed himself."

When Andy Cohen tried to get to the bottom of why MGK may have tweeted what he did in the first place, Lala offered up her theory. "I don't think he likes being attached... you know they came out as a couple on our podcast, and I think it sounded fun. And we asked them a million times, like, 'Do you want us to cut this out?' They said, 'No, leave it in. Who cares?''' she recalled. "And then all of a sudden every article that's written goes right back to on 'Lala Kent and Randall Emmett's podcast.' ... Well, they want to be hanging with [Kourtney] Kardashian and Travis Barker, rather than Lala Kent and Randall Emmett."

Andy then noted, "With all due... it comes out in the wash," to which Lala responded, "I agree, but whatever."

And, for the record, Lala's man does not take credit for the couple ending up together. "Randall is actually very humble, and he did not take credit for any of that," she said. "They just happened to meet on his movie."
