Andy Cohen and the Vanderpump Rules Cast React to Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix’s Split
See what the WWHL host, Lisa Vanderpump, Scheana Shay, and Katie Maloney had to say about the breakup.
News broke on Friday, March 3, that Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix are going their separate ways after nearly a decade together. Now, the former couple’s Vanderpump Rules castmates are reacting.
Among the first to speak out was Lisa Vanderpump herself, as the SUR owner took to Twitter on March 4 to respond to a fan’s tweet that read, “waiting impatiently for your thoughts.”
“I think you will hear my thoughts shortly,” Lisa replied, adding a hashtag for Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen since she’s set to appear on the show this Wednesday, March 8.
Andy Cohen, meanwhile, is looking even further into the future. “How many parts is too many parts for the [Vanderpump Rules] reunion???” he tweeted on March 3, to which Lisa later responded, “Ummm one…I’m not sure my heart is up to it.”
“You have time to get a pacemaker,” Andy jokingly wrote back, “because I NEED YOU.”
Then you have Scheana Shay and Katie Maloney, who have been among those to show their support for Ariana throughout the weekend.
“Always got your back!” Scheana captioned an Instagram photo of herself and her longtime BFF from a previous WWHL appearance, adding a “Team Ariana” hashtag.
Katie also took to Instagram to share two snapshots of her and Ariana together. “You are going to thrive like you were always meant to!” she wrote.
Ariana received even more kind words in the comments of both posts, with Shahs of Sunset’s Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi adding a second “Team Ariana” hashtag under Scheana’s, and Summer House’s Amanda Batula writing, “Ugh I love you both so very much” on Katie’s.
Amanda’s Summer House castmate Danielle Olivera added to Katie’s post, “Queens only.”
Lindsay Hubbard, meanwhile, made her own post dedicated to Ariana. “I’ve been thinking about her nonstop the past few days,” she wrote alongside two photos of them together. “I love you so much Ariana — the most beautiful soul inside and out! My Bravo sis. You deserve all the love, peace, and happiness!”
Ariana has yet to publicly address the breakup, but Tom released a statement on Saturday, March 4, with regard to his role in the split amid rumors of an affair.
“Hey, I fully understand and deserve [your] anger [and] disappointment towards me, but please leave [Tom] Schwartz, my friends, and family out of this situation,” the statement began. “Schwartz specifically only found out about this very recently, and most definitely did not condone my actions. This was a very personal thing.”
Sandoval also asked that anyone upset with him not take it out on Schwartz, their other business partners, or the employees of Schwartz & Sandy’s and Tom Tom. “Please direct [your] anger toward me and not them. They did nothing wrong," he wrote, going on to apologize to them and anyone else who has “to suffer for my actions.”
Sandoval continued, “I will be taking a step back [and] taking a hiatus out of respect for my employees [and] partners.”
As for the breakup itself, “I need some time to address everything else,” he concluded. “Sorry for everything.”
