Leva Bonaparte Reveals the Major Life Change She Made This Summer

Leva Bonaparte may not be spending much time on social media lately, but she’s been doing quite a lot behind the screens. The Republic owner, who will appear on the upcoming Season 9 of Southern Charm, has taken a beat to reevaluate her lifestyle this summer. And in a recent share, she revealed the “major changes” she’s made — and why “[going] dumb” has made her feel “alive!” 

Leva Bonaparte shares a major life update 

In an Instagram post from August 8, the hospitality pro shared a photo of herself and her son. In the picture, she wore a stunning red dress, while her son looked like a dashing superhero in a bowtie and suspenders paired with a cape and a mask. The mother-son duo was holding hands, smiling at each other, and standing in a sea of toy trucks. 

In her caption, Leva shared what she’s been up to — besides playing trucks with superheroes, of course. “What a summer!” she wrote. “Spent as much time as I could with my little guy! But started the summer feeling frazzled and pulled at and dreading waking up, realized it was from all the [unresponded-to] calls and texts.”

Realizing that her smartphone was contributing to her burnout, Leva decided to stop using her device, at least temporarily.

“I purchased [an old-school dumb phone],” she wrote. “Summer is almost over. Still cherishing every day I have at every stage! … Maybe you have not seen me on social as much, well I’ve gone DUMB! lol. As little Lamar likes to call it ‘mommy got a dumb phone.’”

Does Leva Bonaparte still have a smartphone? 

Leva’s post went on to share which devices she still owns and how she uses them. “I still have a [smartphone] but I try to keep it up, stay off it and be present,” she wrote. “I have a flip phone with no internet for emergencies and I batch check my iPhone mid-[morning] and late evening. It has made me feel alive!”

To conclude her Instagram post, the Charleston mama wrote: “Just wanted to check in on social and let y’all know! Go dumb! It’s great! Spent the afternoon at the library with little and I am slowly starting to feel like who I was and who I want to be!”

She added: “Just thought I’d share a little about this summer! Focused on health physically and mentally for me and my guys! But also have a lot of exciting things coming down the [pike].” 

Speaking of exciting things to come, Southern Charm Season 9 premieres Thursday, September 14, at 9/8c on Bravo.

In addition to Leva, Austen Kroll, Shep Rose, Madison LeCroy, Venita Aspen, Olivia Flowers, Taylor Ann Green, and Craig Conover are all set to return for Southern Charm Season 9. They will be joined by newcomers Jarrett Thomas, Rodrigo Reyes, and Rod Razavi.

Patricia Altschul and Whitney Sudler-Smith will also appear on Season 9 of Southern Charm.
