Lala Kent Reveals if She Keeps in Touch with Captain Jason Chambers
The Vanderpump Rules mom shared the update after connecting with the Below Deck Down Under captain at BravoCon 2023.
BravoCon 2023 delivered many memorable franchise crossovers, but one of the most talked about encounters was between Lala Kent and the so-called "Zaddy of the Sea" Captain Jason Chambers.
The Bravolebrities came face-to-face on the third and final day of the convention after Jason name-dropped Lala while on a panel with his fellow Below Deck captains Kerry Titheradge and Glenn Shephard. At one point during the discussion, Captain Jason was asked which Bravoleb would be his “dream” charter guest. The Below Deck Down Under captain quickly grabbed the microphone and said, “Lala Kent,” prompting the crowd to break out in cheers and applause.
Naturally, the moment led fans to believe that Captain Jason was romantically interested in the Vanderpump Rules mom, who has been single ever since she split with Randall Emmett, the father of her 2-year-old daughter, Ocean. The speculation increased later that weekend when Captain Jason posted a photo of him and Lala posing side-by-side in Las Vegas.
“Awesome day 3,” he captioned the November 5 Instagram.
Lala Kent says "timing is everything" when it comes to a relationship
Although Lala previously described the yacht captain as "very very handsome," she insisted she had no interest in dating him… or anyone else at this time. She reiterated her position during a December 13 Amazon Live broadcast, when a fan asked if she kept in touch with the Australian native who now operates a villa in the Philippines.
“We communicate through Instagram. If he posts something, I’m like, ‘Ha that’s so cool.’ But no,” she said in the stream. “You know, I think he’s very very handsome, as many people do. He’s quite a bit older than me. He lives somewhere very very far from me. And timing is everything with a relationship, and I’m just not quite there. I know I’m a weirdo.”

She continued: “See there’s two extremes happening with the Vanderpump friend group. You got people who are moving on immediately and then you got me, two years (into singlehood), who’s, like, ‘I’m just not ready to date. I’m just not. I need to heal.’ And it’s, like, ‘When’s that gonna be?’ I’m just so happy being by myself right now.”
Lala went on to say that she was too preoccupied with other priorities, like building her career and raising her young daughter.
“I think if I really wanted a partner right now, then I would go and try to make that happen,” she said. “But we’re thriving, we’re moving, we’re shaking, we’re creating an empire, we have a baby… just all good things, all really, really fun things happening.”
