Here's Why Dorit Kemsley Is Calling Kyle Richards a "New Person": "I Don't Know This Kyle"

Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards' friendship has been a hot topic on Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

As Kyle has been navigating a "challenging" time in her marriage, Dorit has felt a strain in her relationship with Kyle as well (more on that in the video above). While there have been a few factors Dorit has attributed to the difference in their friendship recently, there has been one particular change in Kyle that Dorit noted during Episode 13 of the season, which aired on January 24.

Dorit went to Kyle's room as she was unpacking in the group's vacation home and immediately asked, "What the hell is this? Pleather with rhinestones? Kyle, it's dental floss." Looking around, she noted, "That's a lot of leather you brought."

Kyle was quick to defend her outfits, explaining, "I never know what I'm going to be in the mood for. So I have a variety of things." Later, she added, "Maybe some of my clothes do look like a hooker. Big deal."

When Kyle shared, "Leather leggings are my go-to," Dorit declared, "Not in Spain."

Moving on to Kyle's swimwear for the trip, Kyle showed Dorit a swimsuit she packed and noted it was a "G-string." With a gasp, Dorit asked, "Kyle. Who are you? Who is this new person?" 

"I don't know this Kyle," she added in an interview. "Yes, she's got an amazing body, and she wants to show it off. I get it. But what are you thinking when you're packing like this? Is Kyle looking for her next husband in Spain?"

Although Dorit had a lot to say about Kyle's Spain fashion, some of her own style choices were also getting called out by her castmates during the trip. On the flight to Spain, Dorit was sporting $1,217 Chanel pajamas. "Your pajama outfit is worth more than, like, my wedding outfit," Crystal Kung Minkoff quipped, to which Dorit responded, "Sweetheart, if you're gonna travel, travel in style."

Kyle's fashion isn't the only part of her appearance that Dorit has called out in recent episodes. On Episode 9, which aired on December 20, 2023, Dorit was shocked to learn that Kyle recently got a new tattoo, asking, "What do you mean you got one more?"

After finding out that Kyle also gave Morgan Wade a "K" tattoo, Dorit declared, "I'm just saying, we've been friends for seven [years]. You didn't put a 'D' on your body, did you?"

During that same episode, Dorit opened up more about feeling disconnected from Kyle. "Kyle and I used to go away once or twice, even more, a year," she said. "Now, I'm not invited on any of Kyle's trips."

Kyle, however, sees things differently. "This is not to be shady ... [but] we've only gone on one trip together as a couple that I can recall, [Mauricio], PK, Dorit, and me," Kyle said in a January 9 Amazon livestream. "We did do Vegas together, that's true, and then we've been in London at the same time, but that was just flat-out an exaggeration,"

"I love Dorit, but it's not like, you know, my friends, we'll go to the gym, we’ll work out together, we hike together," she continued. "She doesn’t do that kind of stuff."
