Kevin Lee Clarifies His Comments About Katie Maloney-Schwartz's Weight

On Monday's Vanderpump Rules, Kevin Lee made an appearance at the bash thrown in Lisa Vanderpump's honor and during it he shared a conversation with Katie Maloney-Schwartz in which he commented on her appearance. He asked the SURver, “What happened? You were much thinner than this. You gained a little bit of weight. You have to work on it. Seriously, I’m telling you as a friend. It’s out of control now. I can tell." The moment left Katie in tears, but Lisa was quick to remind her of how beautiful she is.

Now the event planner is opening up about the moment in an interview with Page Six and attempting to clarify his comments. “I found [Maloney’s reaction] kind of weird. It was a funny kind of joke that I made. I had known her for a while. I thought it would be fun to say things like that to her," he shared about what he said to the beauty expert. Kevin, who has also appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as well as Million Dollar Listing New York Ryan's Wedding, went on to say that he “didn’t realize until she really reacted really badly. I feel so bad. It wasn’t bad intentioned at all. It was something like, ‘Oh my god, you look a little different than I expected. I haven’t seen you in a while.’ She got really upset.”

Katie was definitely feeling the love from viewers following the emotional episode, in which she also opened up in detail about a 2009 accident which left with a scar on her face after falling through a skylight.
