Kenya Moore Opens up About Her Aunt Lisa, Who Has a Special Role in Brooklyn's Life
The RHOA cast member's aunt has been granted trustee power for the tot.
Kenya Moore has had to face some hard realities during Season 12 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. And as she was dealing with a possible divorce from Marc Daly, she also had to decide how to handle their daughter Brooklyn Daly's well-being in case the unimaginable should happen to her.
"Now I really have to protect Brooklyn, make sure she's OK," Kenya said in the April 5 episode of RHOA when meeting with an attorney, even though at the time her future with Marc was still up in the air. "Financially speaking, I've already gotten certain things in place, but I just need to make sure that it's all in the trust. And I need everything to be handled by one person and that's my Aunt Lisa."
Kenya elaborated more about her bond with her aunt, who she discussed granting that trustee and power of attorney role to during Sunday's episode, which she graciously accepted.
"Thank you for giving me an Aunt by blood but little sister in every way imaginable. It’s amazing how God works!!!! One: I was only three days old, I was the only baby in the house and nine months later my grandmother, who raised me, had my aunt Lisa. And at 3 days old [for Brooklyn], she flew from Detroit to help me take care of Brooklyn. Won’t he do it?!!!" Kenya wrote on Instagram. "I trust her with my life and she['s] so in love with Brooklyn! Shout out all the sisters who are your forever loves and forever riders!"
Raised by her late grandmother, Kenya has long been estranged from her mother. Though, her mom did send Brooklyn a birthday gift when she turned 1.
