Kelly Dodd Says She Didn't Want to Judge Vicki Gunvalson Based on Her Brooks Drama
"We had instant chemistry," the #RHOC mom said.
Kelly Dodd may be the new girl in the OC, but she quickly found a friend in its OG, Vicki Gunvalson. "Vicki and I got off on the right foot. We have a lot of things in common. We just like to do the same things," Kelly told The Daily Dish about hitting it off with The Real Housewives of Orange County vet this season (clip above). "She got my humor right away. She likes what I like. We go to the same aesthetician. We like to eat the same kind of food. We have the same tastes. We have a lot of things in common."
The RHOC newbie hasn't exactly had the easiest time getting to know her other castmates this season, having gotten into some major drama with Shannon Beador, Heather Dubrow, and Tamra Judge at Meghan King Edmonds' sushi dinner party in last Monday night's episode. However, Kelly said that she and Vicki easily clicked. "Just chemistry, really, just like when you meet a guy or you meet a girlfriend, it was just instant chemistry, we had instant chemistry," she said. "We like the same things, so it was easy. It was organic."
Even all of the drama surrounding Vicki and her ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers last season didn't deter Kelly from starting a friendship with her. "I'm not God, and I'm not one to place judgment on people. I have to go based on how people treat me, not how things are said, hearsay," Kelly explained. "I listen to what she had to say, she explained her side, and that's what I'm gonna take. I'm gonna take her side and what she told me is the truth, not by vicious rumors or lies from other people or how their perception is of what happened."
Kelly came in to this season of RHOC as a good friend of Meghan's, who told her to be wary of Vicki early on. Now that Kelly has become close with Vicki, has that impacted her relationship with Meghan at all? "She doesn't fault me for being good friends with Vicki," Kelly said. "I still talk to Vicki every single day."
Vicki and Kelly are both "Whoop It Up Girls," after all.
