Katie Ginella Shares a Sweet Tribute for Husband Matt Ginella on 8th Anniversary

The Real Housewives of Orange County's Katie Ginella and her husband Matt Ginella are celebrating a big milestone in their marriage: their eighth wedding anniversary.
To mark the occasion, Katie took to Instagram on Oct. 15 and shared two photos from her and Matt's special day. One shows the couple exchanging their vows, while the other sees Matt kissing Katie as they gaze out at a gorgeous sunset above the mountains.
"We were drowning in love from the moment we met," Katie's sweet caption read. "Happy 8th anniversary MG. You're the brightest light."
When did Katie Ginella get married to Matt Ginella?
After Matt proposed with a purple sapphire ring, he and Katie tied the knot on October 15, 2016 at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri.
"We basically eloped," Katie told The Daily Dish. "I think at the time I was 11 weeks pregnant, and we announced at dinner after our wedding that we were having a baby. So, that was definitely a giant secret. People were like, 'Why aren't you drinking?' And I was like, 'Oh just stressed, you know' but that was why."
Fast-forward to May of 2017, and Katie and Matt welcomed their only child together, a son named Bandon. (Katie is also a mom to three older children: Kaili, Gavin, and Maxon.)
Who is Matt Ginella?
Katie's husband Matt is a "Travel Insider and Storyteller," per his LinkedIn. He founded Fire Pit Productions and has previously worked at Sports Illustrated, Golf Digest, and the Golf Channel. Matt met Katie when he was employed at the latter.
As she recalled on RHOC Season 18, "The first time Matt and I met, I was like, 'Damn, he is so hot.' Fell in love at first sight. But then told me he would meet me out for dinner with a big group of friends. Exhausted, I had worked 14 hours that day, I got ready, did my makeup, and he didn't show up. I was like, 'Screw this guy.'"
So, why did Matt bail? "He was tired [and] had to get up at 3 a.m. to do the morning show at [the] Golf Channel."
In spite of this, Katie and Matt "just kept talking," she continued. "And I was going through [a] divorce, so he was really patient with me, and then he was like, 'OK, I'll wait. And he did."
