Captain Jason Chambers Reveals if He Regrets Calling Lala Kent His "Dream" Charter Guest
The Below Deck Down Under captain said he wished he would've given other names during the viral BravoCon moment.
Captain Jason Chambers was the name on everybody’s lips at BravoCon 2023.
As one of reality TV’s “most eligible bachelors,” the Below Deck Down Under boss received plenty of attention throughout the Las Vegas event, where over 150 Bravolebs came together for panels, parties, and more. In the weeks leading up to the convention, many wondered if Captain Jason, aka the "Zaddy of the Sea," would ultimately find love during his time in Sin City. Hopes and anticipation for a potential romance were fueled by Instagram posts, red-carpet interviews, and BravoCon panel discussions, including one where Captain Jason was asked to name his “dream” charter guest.
“Lala Kent,” he quickly responded, causing the audience to cheer and applaud. The captain touched on the viral moment in a recent sit-down with The Messenger, saying he wished he would’ve offered another name when he answered the question.
Captain Jason says he named-dropped Lala at BravoCon to "stir the pot"
“I did make a few comments about Lala being a primary guest,” he said. “I wish I probably said my daughter would’ve been a great primary guest, or my mom and dad would’ve been better. But I did, in Australian humor, try to stir the pot a little bit on that one because I knew it was gonna cause a little bit of an uproar. However, I did meet some genuine people.”
Although he clearly enjoyed himself at BravoCon 2023, Captain Jason said he didn’t expect there to be so much focus on his love life.
“I wasn’t prepared for it, that’s for sure. Leading up to it, there was a bit of Watch What Happens Live banter with Aesha [Scott] and Andy [Cohen] and myself, and going into it, I definitely didn’t know what I was prepared for, and it did catch me off guard a little bit."
Captain Jason shares what he's looking for in a romantic partner
Lala recently doubled down on her claim that she was not interested in dating Captain Jason or anyone else, for that matter. While the Vanderpump Rules mom described the captain as “very very handsome,” she explained that a relationship with him would be quite difficult because they had completely different lifestyles. Captain Jason seemingly agreed.
“I live in a remote area,” he told The Messenger. “I am underwater. I’m adventurous. My partner would have to be someone who gets their hands dirty and gets into it and wants to see the world and travel. But I have my daughter, that’s first and foremost. And I have my foundations that I’m doing. There is a time, and I think that time is coming, that I would like to search for someone to start sharing things with.”
