How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

In the video above, which is a preview of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14, Episode 10 (airing July 14), Teresa reflects on her past prison sentence and how she used her time away from her loved ones to learn how to "forgive" not only herself but others.

While checking in with Jennifer Aydin, Dolores Catania, Jennifer Fessler, and Jackie Goldschneider before her live podcast of Namaste B$tches, Teresa informs her friends about the topic of her and Melissa Pfeister's discussion, saying, "Our theme is finding my peace."

Teresa goes on to explain how the theme holds significance for her due to the recent difficulties she and Luis "Louie" Ruelas have been facing. "It is hard for me just because, you know, [I’m] dealing with a lot and… there’s a lot of stuff going on," she tells the ladies. "You know there’s a court case going on right now, since I met Louie the past three years there’s been a lot of stuff you know and it's been people in our circle too that have contributed to that."

Teresa Giudice puts her hand on Luis Ruelas's lap.

Despite all the hardships she's facing, Teresa assured everyone that she'll power through just as she did during her time in prison — by reconnecting with her faith and "bringing God back into my life because I was really mad at God because of everything, you know [be]cause I went to jail," she says.

Finding meaning in Teresa's words, Jennifer Fessler suggests that the other ladies should also take a lesson from her. "Guys, if Teresa can forgive God, maybe we can all find a way to forgive," she notes.

How long was Teresa Giudice in prison for?

In 2014, the RHONJ 'Wife and her first husband, Joe Giudice, pled guilty to bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. Both Teresa and Joe served out prison sentences, though the then-spouses were able to stagger them so one parent was always present for their four daughters.

Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in prison. However, she was only behind bars in Danbury, Connecticut for 11 months.

During her time in prison, Teresa found solace in practicing yoga. "When I went to jail, that’s when I started doing yoga," she revealed during a March 2023 interview with Reality Blurb. "I just had to get my mind space clear because I was really upset that I was taken away from my daughters. So that's when I started doing it... And when I came out of jail, I got certified in yoga because I loved it so much."

When the temperatures were warm enough for Teresa to go outside, she would practice yoga there.

"I was at a camp facility, so we were able to go outside. And that’s one thing I have to say, the grounds were so beautiful... and I would find a place and [meditate] there..." she continued. "When it was spring and summer, [I'd meditate] in the grass."
