Gina Kirschenheiter Has Finalized Her Divorce, But She's Not Officially Single Yet
The Real Housewives of Orange County mom is nearing the official end to her marriage.
Gina Kirschenheiter's marriage is almost officially over.
The Real Housewives of Orange County mom appeared in court in the OC on August 14 for a hearing with her husband, The Blast reports. They filed a judgment with the court, which will be signed off by a judge.
The judge asked for one more disclosure document. The former couple will remain legally married until December 31, 2019, according to The Blast.
Gina has requested to keep her last name of Kirschenheiter in order to have the same surname as her children, which the judge has allowed.
E! News also reports that the protective order Gina filed against her husband in June has been extended until their next court date in January.
Gina filed for divorce from her husband in April 2018. Things seemed to be extremely amicable for the former couple as they went through their divorce proceedings, with Gina often expressing how much love and respect she will always have for her ex. The RHOC parents could also often be seen out together as a family with their three young children, Nicholas, Sienna, and Luca.
Gina was especially effusive as she gushed about her husband in a post celebrating his birthday on June 11. "Happy birthday to the man who has held my hand for the last 14 years despite the ups and downs. Thanks for being the best father to our kids, and the best friend a girl could ask for," she wrote. "Wouldn’t want to take on this crazy life with anyone else. Like you said, 'I’m your person and you’re mine.'"
However, the two ran into some challenges in recent months. Gina's husband was arrested on suspicions relating to domestic violence on June 22. He was released the next day.
Gina filed a protective order against her ex on June 24.
