GG Defends Her Health Struggles in an Instagram Message for Her "Doubters"
The #Shahs pal shuts down questions about her illness on social media.
As questions about the severity of her rheumatoid arthritis continue to arise this season on Shahs of Sunset, Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi is firing back at anyone who thinks she's exaggerating her illness. On Monday, she took to Instagram to open up about her battle with the disease.
"Oh and I suppose this tattoo I've had for years is fake too? RA is not something I use for attention or a storyline for the show... it is the story of the life I've been living for the last 6 years and the disease I will have until I can (hopefully) one day go into remission," she said. "But I'm grateful for the doubters. It's because of y'all that more people now know about RA! I love all of my warriors and supporters. #F***RA #bRAveWARRIOR"
In addition to the message for the skeptics, GG also recently shared a photo of one of her medications that she takes to help cope with R.A.
While Reza Farahan has been at the forefront of those with questions about her R.A. (clip below), longtime pal, Shervin Roohparvar, came to her defense this week, noting that he's been by her side throughout her battle. "I was there for her surgery because of the scar tissue had to come out because she couldn't close her fist anymore," he told The Daily Dish. "So it's a very difficult thing she's going through. I think that she doesn't necessarily exaggerate; I think that she is sitting in doctor's office hearing a bunch of words and terminology that she doesn't necessarily know and then she takes these little power words like 'radiation,' 'chemotherapy,' and she's scared of them. And they're the ones that are most prevalent in her mind when she thinks back and that's what she shares." Shervin then clarified the type of treatment GG has received thus far. "What she's had is, it's similar to chemotherapy," he said. "It's a drug that's used in conjunction with chemotherapy during chemotherapy."
