What Does Erika's Son Think of Erika Jayne?

Erika Girardi came into The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills like a rhinestone-studded hurricane in Season 6. The sassy 'Wife-by-day, pop star-by-night showed the ladies how to let loose when she revealed her alterego, Erika Jayne, and never apologized for her brand of realness.

With her rookie run on RHOBH nearing its end, The Daily Dish spoke to Erika on April 21 — the same day Prince died — to get her take on becoming a Housewife, as well as her life as a singer and all-around glamour goddess.

We are deep in the reunion. How are you feeling right now now that Part 1 is over?

Erika Girardi: I feel good. I'm happy. I'm fine. I don't have any crazy feelings at all.

You weren't the only new Housewife this season — Kathryn [Edwards] was also a newbie in the Beverly Hills crew. How do you feel your two experiences compare this season?

I don't know. I can only speak for myself, which is to say I had a good time, certainly not without challenges. But all-in-all, my takeaway from it was that it was a very positive and fun experience.

[Last] week you also dropped the very, very amazing "How Many F***s?" video. That video is incredible on every single level. How does it show your evolution as an artist?

Well, I think, it's great. As an artist you always want to evolve and you always want to grow. It was a different platform for us to do three separate worlds. There was no storyline to it, it was pure performance. It was kind of cool. I thought that was great and I thought it turned out really well.

That money dress is amazing.

It feels good, too. It's easy to dance in, that's for sure.

I loved it. I love that you styled it with sneakers and not heels.

Well, I couldn't dance like that. I had to dance in those things. I was never gonna dance in heels like that. Not gonna happen.

I want to ask you — because, obviously, you make incredible music yourself — what's on your playlist right now? What are you listening to that's kind of inspiring you?

Well, today, it's an all-Prince day for me today. So that's where my head is at currently. And I'm in the studio this week making new things. And, you know, I'm always out listening and being inspired, but today it's definitely a Prince day. And I bet when I walk into the studio on Friday, I'll still feel the same way.

So what kind of new music should we expect from you?

You know, more Erika Jayne. I think the music, it's gonna be fun, tons of energy, and obviously something you can dance to because that's what I like to do.

Would we ever see a ballad from you? Are you in that head space?

Not currently, but that doesn't, things could change. Listen if I wrote some incredible ballad or came across some incredible ballad that was truly inspirational, sure. But you have to feel those things. You have to be in that head space in order to create like that.

Your glam squad is amazing. You always look incredible. How did you start working with Scott Barnes on your makeup?

Scott Barnes and I became friends through my publicist, Jack, and that's how we met.

So what is the philosophy you and your glam squad has when it comes to making the Erika Jayne look happen?

Well, I mean, obviously depending on where we're going. It's like when we went to Dubai, I really wanted to showcase lifestyle, extravagance, and the city itself. It's such an exotic culture. We went over-the-top, fabulous all the time there.

The Ladies Arrive in Dubai

And you know, for the videos and things, Scott — Frank [Galasso] also did the hair and makeup for "How Many F***s?" and those are three very separate distinct worlds and [we] had meetings about them and talked about what we wanted to get across for the visual, down to the gold lips.

That gold room is amazing by the way.

Isn't that cool? We actually built. We built a room, it was insane. The sets on this video are insane.
