Emily Simpson Opens Up About Her Stepdaughter Shelby’s "Perfect" Wedding (VIDEO)

The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member gave a look inside her husband Shane Simpson's eldest daughter's wedding.

By Casey Suglia

Emily Simpson is now a (step) mother-in-law! The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member revealed that her husband Shane Simpson's eldest daughter from a previous relationship, Shelby, got married on Friday, Aug. 16. And she could not have been any more excited to celebrate Shelby on her big day.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

Emily took to her Instagram on Sunday, Aug. 25, where she posted an Instagram Reel with clips from the wedding. In the video, Emily and Shane can be seen standing with their three kids — twin sons, Luke and Keller Simpson, and daughter Annabelle Simpson — outside of the LDS Temple where Shelby got married.

After giving their well wishes to the bride, the wedding guests then headed to Shane's parents' house, where they feasted on Persian food (Shane is half Persian), watched Shelby and her new husband exchange their wedding rings, and danced the night away. Both Shane and Annabelle (who served as a junior bridesmaid) gave speeches, while Emily's twins served as the ring-bearers.

"They were married in the LDS Temple in Newport in the morning, followed by a family dinner and ring ceremony at my in-law's home," Emily wrote in the caption of the post. "It was a perfect, sunny, gorgeous day of family and friends celebrating Evan and Shelby."

Emily's friends took to the comments of the post to share their well wishes for the married couple. "So beautiful and special!!!," Emily's RHOC cast member Heather Dubrow commented. "Congratulations!!!"

"You had me at stuffed grape leaves," The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member Angie Katsanevas added. "Congratulations what [a] beautiful family and special day."

Emily Simpson Shares Details On Her Family

Emily's family from Ohio attended the reception, in addition to her RHOC cast member Gina Kirschenheiter, who took to her Instagram account to share her perspective of the wedding (more on that later).

Who is Shane Simpson's daughter, Shelby?

Emily also shared more details about her family when taking fans inside the wedding, writing, "Also, just a breakdown because I know someone is going to ask: Shane has two older daughters from a previous marriage, Chanel is 18 and just graduated from high school. Shelby is 23 and just graduated from BYU and just got married. Shane and I have Annabelle, Luke and Keller.

Gina Kirschenheiter is an "Honorary Simpson" at Shane's Daughter's Wedding

Gina revealed that she was at the wedding with her boyfriend Travis Mullen, who accompanied her on the dance floor where she got in plenty of selfies with Travis, Emily, and their friends. "So much fun celebrating Shelby & Evan this weekend!!!," Gina wrote in the caption of the post. "Loved being an honorary Simpson!!!" she added over the video.

Where Gina and Emily Stand After RHOC Season 18 Friendship Drama

Gina's attendance at the wedding comes on the heels of the fight that she had with Emily on the pickleball court during RHOC Season 18, Episode 7. But, both women are in a much better place now after airing out their grievances with each other. "I think Gina and I are so close; I equate Gina with a sister, not just a friend," Emily told BravoTV.com.

"There's never any long-term toxicity in our relationship," she added. "We're so important to one another that we both have the mentality that we always want to move forward and we always want to make it right."
