Why Cynthia Bailey Thought Joe Biden Would Be at the RHOA Party: "It Did Not Seem Far-Fetched"
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member was expecting a special guest at her surprise engagement dinner.
As Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss tried to keep the surprise about Cynthia Bailey and Mike HIll's engagement dinner under wraps in the January 10 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, some rumors started spreading about the real reason for the event.
Namely, during one group text exchange, there was some talk about Joe Biden attending the event as he campaigned in the 2020 presidential election at the time. "I knew it was a pretty big deal because Kandi was like, 'They're gonna lock the doors if you're not there on time,'" Cynthia said during an interview in the episode, noting that she thought that was a hint that the Secret Service would be in attendance.
Cynthia elaborated on why she really thought the president-elect would be at the event during her January 10 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. "I was at the party and still was looking for Biden. I drove Mike crazy. I knew this was a big election. He's got to do what you've got to do. So if coming to an event that Kandi threw for him, like, I thought, hey, it did not seem far-fetched," she explained. "And I was very excited to meet him, and I still expect and hope to meet him one day."
Cynthia was surprised when Biden ultimately did not show up to the party on RHOA, but she was even more shocked to see that the event was a celebration of her and Mike's engagement. She was so touched by the party being thrown in honor of her and Mike that Cynthia even teared up during the event. "I cannot be more grateful to Kenya and to Kandi," Cynthia said in an interview during the episode. "The fact that they were somehow able to pull this off means the world."
